Audiam is a Reproduction collection agency. Amongst other things, it works for music publishers and self published songwriters to license and collect streaming mechanical royalties that are not already passed through from the record label to the publisher.

The back up to support the per stream mechanical royalty rates you see on this page were supplied to us directly by Spotify under the Terms of the composition license.

The rates are only for the United States and only for “mechanical” royalties. The rates for sound recordings and the rates in other countries are different.

The mechanical royalty rate varies month to month based on how many total streams occur in Spotify in the US and how much money Spotify in the US has made in any given month.

These royalties are paid to music publishers directly by Spotify. These royalties are not paid to TuneCore, CD Baby, DistroKid or any record label to then be paid to the music publisher.

If there are recordings of your music in Spotify in the US that have streamed, and you have not been paid these second separate mechanical royalties, Spotify has either not paid you in OR Spotify did not get a license to your composition in the first place.
